East Africa's most cosmopolitan city, Nairobi is Kenya's beating heart, an exciting, frenetic concrete jungle that counterpoints the untrammeled natural beauty to be found elsewhere in the country. And, believe it or not, the city has its own wildlife attractions, with a fabulous national park on its doorstep and several reserves dedicated to the wellbeing of the Big five- elephants, rhinos, lion, buffalo, leopard, as well as other hosts of wildlife like Zebras, Antelopes, Giraffes, wildebeests, baboons and birds.

4 DAY THE REAL TANZANIA-ZANZIBAR EXPERIENCE

Zanzibar

Step off the plane onto the Zanzibar Archipelago and you’re transported through time and place. This is one of the world's great cultural crossroads, where Africa meets Arabia meets the Indian Ocean.

Embrace yourself in the opulent beauty of all-things Zanzibar with our 4-day itinerary! Start with a full day of relaxation and bask in the blue seas at your resort. Then journey In Zanzibar Town, where the narrow alleys of historic Stone Town meander between ancient buildings decorated with balconies and gigantic carved doors. Next up, tour the coast, see fishing boats set sail, and in the countryside, farmers tend fields of rice or the clove plantations that give Zanzibar its 'Spice Islands' moniker. Take an adventurous boat ride to sand bar in the Indian Ocean and have a tasty seafood lunch. Later in the evening, you'll discover why the world-famous Rock Restaurant is so memorable.

KENYA – Visa required. Apply for and obtain an eVisa online. All applications can be found on www.evisa.go.ke.

• The eVisa application process takes at least two (2) working days and will be delivered to the applicant`s email address in PDF format, which will need to be printed and presented to the Immigration officers upon entry into the country. An eVisa to Kenya once issued is valid for 3 months (90 days) from the date it is issued.
• Passengers continuing onto Tanzania, with a USA Passport will require a multiple entry visa.  
• Passengers continuing onto Tanzania from Kenya must carry proof of yellow fever vaccination.

TANZANIA – Visa required. Visas are available for purchase at the Zanzibar Airport however we strongly suggest it is obtained in advance to avoid long delays and ensure entry. Visas upon arrival are not guaranteed. The current fee for a visa is $100. Passengers purchasing a visa at the airport must be prepared to pay in USD (cash). All passengers must complete a Booking Agreement before travel and, by so doing, formally accept Changing Pace Travel's Terms & Conditions. Day 1: Arrival, Airport pick up 

Upon your arrival at the JKIA (NBO) Airport, our dedicated team will be on hand to provide you with VIP meet and greet services, ensuring that you receive a warm and seamless welcome. You will be personally guided through the arrival process, bypassing any long queues at immigration, allowing you to swiftly navigate through the airport. Following this, a comfortable and private transfer will be arranged to take you to the exquisite Tamarind Tree Hotel, where you will have the opportunity to relax and unwind. This day is specifically designed to help you acclimate and shed any lingering jet lag, ensuring that you are refreshed and rejuvenated before embarking on your exciting adventure.

After breakfast, you will embark on a full-day adventure that showcases the best of the city's natural and cultural attractions. 

Your journey begins with a visit to Nairobi National Park, where you'll experience a unique game drive against the backdrop of the city skyline. 

Following this, you'll have the opportunity to visit the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage to witness the incredible conservation efforts and adorable baby elephants. 

Afterward, savor a sumptuous lunch at a local restaurant, sampling authentic Kenyan cuisine. 

The next stop is the Giraffe Center, where you can interact with and learn about these elegant creatures.

To delve into Kenya's rich history and culture, your excursion continues with a visit to The National Museum of Kenya, home to fascinating exhibits and artifacts. 

As the evening sets in, you'll make your way to the world-renowned Carnivore Restaurant for a memorable dining experience. Indulge in a feast of succulent, flame-grilled meats served on skewers, including a variety of game meats and traditional accompaniments, all in a vibrant and lively atmosphere.

Your adventure begins as you are picked up from the Tamarind Tree Hotel at 7:00 AM by our experienced drivers/guides. As you leave Nairobi behind, you'll travel towards Masai Mara, taking in the breathtaking Kenyan countryside along the way. The journey provides an opportunity to see the changing landscapes, from urban to rural, and offers insights into local life. As you approach the world-renowned reserve, anticipation builds for the wildlife encounters that await. 

Arriving at the Ashnil Mara Camp, you'll be greeted with a warm welcome and escorted to a delightful lunch. The camp's inviting ambiance and scenic surroundings set the stage for a memorable dining experience, allowing you to savor the flavors of Kenya while taking in the natural beauty of the Masai Mara. 

Following lunch, you'll embark on an afternoon game drive, venturing into the vast expanse of the Masai Mara in search of its legendary wildlife. The Mara is home to an incredible array of animals, including the famed Big Five, and the game drive offers the chance to witness these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat. Your experienced guides will provide insights into the behaviors and characteristics of the wildlife, enriching your understanding of the Mara's ecosystem. 

As the golden light of the late afternoon bathes the landscape, the game drive presents captivating opportunities for wildlife photography and immersive wildlife viewing. The Mara's open plains, dotted with acacia trees and grazing wildlife, create an iconic African scene that epitomizes the beauty of the savannah. 

Upon returning to the Ashnil Mara Camp, you'll have the opportunity to relax and unwind, taking in the sights and sounds of the Mara from the comfort of the camp. As evening descends, a delicious dinner awaits, offering a chance to savor culinary delights while sharing stories of the day's wildlife encounters with fellow travelers.

Today promises a full day of adventure in the mesmerizing Masai Mara. After a leisurely breakfast at the camp, you'll set out for a comprehensive exploration of the reserve, with opportunities for extended game drives and wildlife encounters. The vastness of the Mara ensures that each expedition into the wilderness unveils new discoveries and captivating moments, creating an immersive experience in one of Africa's most renowned wildlife destinations. 

Your day will be punctuated by sightings of diverse wildlife, from graceful giraffes and imposing elephants to majestic lions and elusive leopards. The ever-changing landscape of the Mara, from rolling grasslands to meandering rivers, provides a dynamic backdrop for your wildlife encounters, ensuring that each moment is unique and memorable. 

Amidst your explorations, a picnic lunch will be arranged in a scenic location within the Mara, allowing you to savor a delightful meal surrounded by the untamed beauty of the reserve. The opportunity to dine in the heart of the African wilderness adds an extra layer of magic to your safari experience, creating lasting memories of your time in the Mara. 

As the day draws to a close, you'll return to the Ashnil Mara Camp, where you can reflect on the day's adventures and sightings. A sumptuous dinner awaits, offering a fitting conclusion to your full day in the Mara and providing an opportunity to savor the flavors of Africa while surrounded by the tranquility of the camp.

The day begins with a leisurely and delicious breakfast at Ashnil Mara Camp, where you can savor the flavors of the camp's offerings and soak in the serene surroundings. Following breakfast, you'll have the opportunity to embark on a captivating visit to a Maasai village. Here, you can immerse yourself in the rich and vibrant culture of the Maasai people, engaging in traditional activities, witnessing captivating dances, and learning about their unique way of life, including their customs, crafts, and community dynamics. 

After the village visit, the journey towards Nairobi begins, with a break scheduled for a delightful lunch en route, where you can savor the flavors of the region. We shall arrive to Nairobi around 4PM. Drop off to the airport for your scheduled intra-flight to Zanzibar. 90-minute Flight time.

Enjoy the day on your own at our host hotel in Zanzibar.

Awaken on the northeast coast of the island where the sophisticated all-inclusive Zanzibar hotel awaits. White sand beaches, six restaurants, five bars and more give you a glimpse of a side to Africa that the media rarely shows. 

Later in the early evening (approximately 4pm), we'll head to the middle of the Indian Ocean, and enjoy a meal at the world-famous rock Restaurant dining over the sea with breathtaking views.

After breakfast you'll be picked up for an Aromatic Spice Tour. During this guided walking tour experience, you'll discover why Zanzibar is named "spice island". We'll then head to Kizimbani village to discover types of spices and tropical fruits. You'll and even get to taste some local exotic fruits.

The second tour of the day is an authentic Stone Town Walking Tour.  We'll visit the former slave market and walk the path of the slave trade. There will be an opportunity to shop for antiques and souvenirs in the Stone Town markets. We'll make sure no stone is left unturned.

After breakfast, you'll explore one of Zanzibar's mesmerizing beach life and sand banks at Nakupenda Beach. You'll take a boat from the main island to the sand bank where you'll spend your day during low tide. For lunch, you'll have fresh seafood cooked and prepared on the beach with savoring fruit.

Afterwards, you'll return to the hotel for dinner. You'll pack for your departure the next day.

This is your last day in Zanzibar. You'll have the first part of the day on your own to relax before your commute home, shop or see more of Zanzibar.  Later in the day, you'll transfer to the airport for your outbound flight back to Nairobi where you will catch your international flight home.
